Dr. Santiago Miriuka graduated from the National University of La Plata in 1996. He specialized in Cardiology at the Institute of Cardiology of the Hospital Español / UBA between 1997 and 2001. Later, between 2001 and 2005 he did a fellowship at Heart Failure and Heart Transplant at Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, Canada. In addition, he completed his Master of Science (Cell Biology) thesis, University of Toronto in 2005. In 2011 he completed (remotely) a Master of Science (Clinical Trials) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) of the University of London, UK. In 2015 he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the National University of La Plata.
He currently works as a cardiologist at FLENI. He is an Independent Researcher at CONICET and the Laboratory of Applied Research in Neuroscience (LIAN) of the FLENI Foundation. He has directed and directs numerous thesis, doctoral, postdoctoral and assistant researchers. His lines of research include pluripotent stem cells, their differentiation to mesoderm and cardiac cells, transcriptomics, and the application of data science and artificial intelligence.
