Mariela Marazita received her BS and MSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the School of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry also from University of Buenos Aires, for her work on p19INK4d function in the DNA damage response. She joined the Translational Medicine Research Institute (IIMT) – Austral University – CONICET, Argentina, as a postdoctoral fellow to study the link between oxidative damage and inflammation in the retina. She became a researcher of the National Scientific and Research Council directing her work towards the field of cellular senescence as a pathogenic mechanism in age-related diseases. At LIAN-FLENI her research focuses on identifying the molecular pathways that link aging with neurodegenerative diseases.
